Guilty Obsession #1

I am going to start admitting to my guilty obsessions! Come on, they’re fun. I’m supposed to be getting ready right now but I’m procrastinating. Real Housewives of the OC was an obsession of mine, and now Real Housewives of New York has taken its place.

I admit, none of the NY ladies can compare to Tammi, Jo, or Tamra in the looks department. But the NY ladies are much more glamorous. I love that there is a countess, and that they attend exclusive events like fashions shows and galas. If we are going to take a look into the lives of the “housewives” of this class of people, Id like to see them do more than go to spring break in Lake Havasu. Show me what Im not seeing every day in my own life.

Anyway, I’m sucked in right now to the re-run of last week’s episode, awaiting the new one, which I’ll watch as I apply mascara (it’s a talent), and I am in awe of Ramona and the way she carries herself. She comes off as desperate to fit in to a group of people that is playing on a different field than she is. She slips up and says classless things at the absolute worst moments. It’s easy to be embarrassed for her. She is like the NY version of OC’s Vicki.

How annoying is Alex? She is so pretentious. All she talks about when she meets someone new is how they can “advance her in some way” socially or professionally. Networking is one thing, but when all is said and done, when it comes to making friends things like that dont matter as much as being a genuine and good person. I get it, but she doesnt have to be so blatant about it. “Jill is a very useful contact to have.” Ew.

Jill and the countess, LuAnn de Lessepes (I just love her name, its so “storybook”…) are definitely my favorites. The carry themselves with dignity but they have a good time. They know the ropes and you can tell.

Bethany is okay. Kinda dull so far and a little harsh for me. Shes real, but.

Anyway ok now that I have thoroughly humiliated myself with this confession… I’m off to primp.
